JupiRide operates a rideshare platform connecting passengers with independent drivers in California. Our app, website, and services are collectively referred to as the "Platform."

2. What Information We Collect

Information you give us:

• Account info: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo
• Payment info: Credit/debit card details (processed by our payment provider - we do not store full card numbers)
• Driver-specific: Driver license, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, background check consent

Information we collect automatically:

• Location data: GPS coordinates while the app is in use
• Ride data: Pickup location, destination, route taken, trip duration, fare paid
• Device info: Device type, operating system, app version, unique device identifier
• Usage data: Features accessed, time and date of activity

Information from third parties: Background check providers (drivers only), payment processors, and map providers (Mapbox).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide the rideshare service, communicate about your account and rides, calculate driver earnings, ensure safety, comply with California law, and improve our app. We do not use your data to train AI models or sell advertising.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We share data only when necessary: your matched driver or passenger (first name, photo, location during ride), payment processor, Mapbox (routes), Firebase (push notifications), Pusher (ride status), background check provider (drivers only), and law enforcement (as legally required).

We will never sell your personal information. Ever. This is a core commitment of JupiRide.

5. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Right to Know: Request what personal information we have collected about you.

Right to Delete: Request that we delete your personal information.

Right to Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information.

Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you service because you exercised any of these rights.

To submit a request: email support@jupiride.com with subject "California Privacy Request." We respond within 45 days.

6. Data Retention

If you delete your account: ride history retained 3 years, payment records retained 7 years, location data deleted within 90 days after each ride.

7. How We Protect Your Data

All data transmitted is encrypted (TLS/HTTPS). Payment data handled by PCI-compliant processor. Access limited to those who need it to operate the service.

8. Children's Privacy

JupiRide is not intended for users under 18. Contact support@jupiride.com if you believe a minor has created an account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes via push notification and in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
